Josie Hughes, Author.

This is my pen name for my memoir and essays.

Finding essays

I learned some publications move around and take hiatuses. It reminds me of a friend who did graffiti art in the middle of the night with CHALK.

I have four essays published from my memoir, which has 18 plus essays.

My writing process involves writing many words, free flow train of thought, based on my prior life as a playwright. I immerse myself into my character, which is me, and the setting is my real life memories. Then I shape them into essays which are hybrid, a mix of nonfiction and memoir. I do not fictionalize, based on my decades as a librarian.

I found the most edited highest status essay, Rock Bottom, published in Plexus, a medical journal. That essay also had 94 edits, which created an essay that fit the journal more than my memoir. But it is easy to link to.

I am using a block for each essay, with information on the journals and essay added. The Eureka one is still online, but I have to find more links.

Those two essays are similar. The other two are hard to find.
